Started in 1947, the United States Marine Corps’ Toys for Tots program has been bringing smiles to the faces of children in need each holiday season for decades. The mission of Toys for Tots is “to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November, and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community.”

This year, OIT wanted to do its part in helping to ensure that children in Montgomery and the surrounding areas wake up to presents under the tree. OIT partnered with the Montgomery Area Toys for Toys to collect toys that will be distributed throughout the City of Montgomery and across Autauga, Bullock, Dallas, Elmore, Lee, Macon, Marengo, Montgomery, and Wilcox counties.

The response by OIT employees was overwhelming and the toy drop off box had to be emptied numerous times in order to make room for additional donations. Among the collected toys were dolls, teddy bears, games, action figures, sports equipment, and much more! OIT is proud to support the Montgomery Area Toys for Tots drive and feels strongly about providing for those in our community who might need a helping hand during this special time of the year.
