The Alabama AI Innovators is a collection of user groups focused on promoting collaboration, sharing ideas, analyzing lessons learned, reviewing governance considerations, and exploring practical and responsible uses of Artificial Intelligence across the State of Alabama.
USER GROUPS
Business AI User Group
Purpose:
The Business AI Use User Group helps state agencies explore practical, business-centered applications of artificial intelligence. Its focus includes improving customer and citizen services, automating workflows, strengthening knowledge management, increasing productivity, and improving organizational efficiency.
Tasks:
Members identify business problems that may be suitable for AI, develop and evaluate use cases, share agency experiences, and participate in demonstrations of practical AI solutions. The group also explores ways AI can improve productivity, automate workflows, strengthen knowledge management, preserve institutional knowledge, and give employees faster access to trusted information and assistance with routine operational tasks.
What the group expects to accomplish:
The group aims to help agencies move from general interest in AI to clearly defined, responsible use cases that deliver measurable operational value. Expected outcomes include improved service delivery, more efficient business processes, stronger knowledge-sharing practices, and reusable examples and resources that other agencies can adapt.
Technical AI User Group
Purpose:
The Technical AI Use User Group brings together architects, engineers, developers, administrators, security professionals, and other technical staff involved in implementing and supporting AI across Alabama state government. Its focus includes AI development, integration, administration, security, governance, and technical implementation.
Tasks:
Members share technical experiences, implementation approaches, lessons learned, governance considerations, and challenges arising from agency AI projects. They collaborate to evaluate technical solutions, address integration, security, administration, and support requirements, and develop practical guidance and reusable resources for agencies implementing AI.
What the group expects to accomplish:
The group aims to strengthen statewide technical expertise and promote secure, responsible, and sustainable AI implementation. Expected outcomes include better coordination among agency technical teams, shared technical practices and resources, improved approaches to security and governance, and greater confidence in deploying and supporting AI solutions across state government.
