The Technology Quality Assurance Board (TQAB) serves as a multi-agency oversight body responsible for guiding the responsible, secure, and effective deployment of novel and emerging technologies across Alabama's executive-branch agencies.

The TQAB was established under Act 2025‑369 (formerly HB207), signed into law by Governor Kay Ivey on May 13, 2025. The act expanded the duties of the Alabama Office of Information Technology to include additional cybersecurity oversight and provided for the creation of the TQAB as part of that broader governance framework.

The TQAB held its inaugural meeting in February 2026, marking the start of its role as a key advisory partner to the Office of Information Technology (OIT). As the agency tasked with legislative authority over State systems, OIT will rely on the TQAB to provide expert guidance, ensure consistency across executive‑branch initiatives involving novel technologies, and promote responsible use of advanced tools.
