While the OIT is primarily an Information Technology (IT) policy and service organization, our responsibilities also include establishing and administering a structured system for the review and approval of new IT initiatives and projects. For capital investment projects, we will require a business case, cost benefit analysis and/or compatibility analysis to justify the state’s expenditures to ensure the solution is cost-effective while aligning with the strategic plan. Additionally, this office will promulgate rules, regulations and policies, and establish procedures and standards for the management and operation of IT by state agencies to ensure a more consumer-oriented focus.
