OIT HOLDS CYBERSECURITY BRIEFING

The Office of Information Technology (OIT) held its first Cybersecurity Briefing Thursday at the Alabama State Capitol Auditorium.

People from across the state were in attendance and heard from cybersecurity experts on a variety of topics, including an overview of the state of cybersecurity, trends in cyber threats, the future of cybersecurity, and how to prevent future cyberattacks. The guest speakers included Brad Bowers, Senior Solutions Architect with SHI; Joe Poli, Varonis sales manager; Tim Otis, Incident Operations at Check Point Software Technologies; and CISCO account manager Chad Smith.

Checkpoint Software Technologies and DataBlue provided lunch from Mama’s Sack Lunch to all those who attended.

OIT plans to hold cybersecurity briefings every year in conjunction with Cybersecurity Awareness Month.
