Clay Weaver is the Chief Solutions Officer for the Office of Information Technology (OIT), responsible for delivering business and technology solutions to State agencies. Clay leads OIT’s Solutions Development and Management group of divisions consisting of the Enterprise Project Management Office, the Applications and Development division, and the Communications and Training division. Prior to accepting this role, Clay served as director of OIT’s Enterprise Project Management Office and was instrumental in implementing the State’s first IT Project Governance framework.
Clay has over 26 years of management experience in delivering IT solutions, 17 of those years serving as Software Development Manager for the State of Alabama’s Department of Rehabilitation Services. His work experience spans State Government, Federal Government, U.S. Military, and commercial sectors. He is a retired Army Warrant Officer, serving 24 years of which 10 were on active duty. He served a one year deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom providing IT leadership in establishing a Theater Command Center in Kuwait.
Clay holds a BS in Management Communications from Southern Christian University and an MBA from Liberty University. He and his wife, the former Sharon Mitchell, have three children. They live in Montgomery and are members of Saint James United Methodist Church.
